Dev Log 11


Before heading into the Beta, we had this week to prepare for our next group of playtesters. As with almost every game, each stage of development alters the game. This week we paired back on many things we had hoped to add in place of necessary elements that would make the game feel far better. 

This week Stephen (https://stephenrockett.itch.io/) worked on the user interface visuals, which had mostly been neglected up until this point. The menu screen and game screen UI were redesigned to feel more finished. Additionally, the playable character now has a group of elements to highlight to the player what will be cast. Now, once a player casts any of the special elements, text displaying which type has been cast is displayed in the top left of the screen. 

Tom (https://grumtom.itch.io/) spent this week making a tutorial section for the game, which is an important quality-of-life improvement over reading a wall of text to know what the player should do.
